Marmato is part of the biggest mining risk zone in Colombia; according to mining institutions, the community should be located somewhere else. Some day Marmato might not be there any more, because its destiny is obvious. Some day it will cease to exist - Nature's revenge for the long history of extraction that has disembowelled the mountain and has destabilized the subsoil. Rivers, vegetation, women and children, land, air, peace, all have been lost, and so far no one has demanded reparation.
