ebrd task group
The EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction & Development) is the youngest multilateral development bank of all.
It looked like it would make a difference when it included the promotion of democracy and environmental protection in its mission. Sadly, the EBRDs ten years of existence showed that it supports many controversial projects.
The Task Group on the EBRD works in close cooperation with CEE Bankwatch Network.
More transparency and better information disclosure policies at the Bank are major focuses. The Task Group also campaigns against financing of the K2R4 nuclear power project in the Ukraine. Lastly, it calls for a phase out of financing for projects in the sector oil, mining and gas.
