Climate change to overwhelm world's poor
29 March, 2007 -- On 2nd -5th April, the world's leading scientific experts are to gather in Brussels, Belgium, to launch the second volume from the United Nation's Fourth Assessment Report, which addresses climate impacts, adaptation and vulnerability. The report is expected to portray a bleak future for the world's poorest countries, which have done least to pollute the atmosphere. Despite the negligible historical emissions of greenhouse gases by the least developed countries, their people will suffer most from climate change, as they are the most vulnerable to the impacts and least able to adapt.

Court orders shut down shell oil depot
March 7th 2007 -– Friends of the Earth International welcomed today’s ruling of the Philippines Supreme Court, which ordered the Manila City government to shut down the Pandacan oil depot.

Shell: clean up your mess
January 31st 2007 - - A new report, launched the day before oil giant Shell announces its 2006 annual profits (1 February 2007) calls on Shell to use the profits to begin cleaning up damage it has caused to communities and the environment. The report offers proposals and figures for where and how Shell should repair some of the damage it has caused in nine communities around the world.

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change begins its release of the long anticipated Fourth Assessment Report in Paris on 2 February 2007, which is set to provide the most credible evidence yet of the human link to climate change and its devastating impacts.
