paraguay: water ballet makes splash for unesco visit
Koichiro Matsuura, the first Director General of UNESCO to visit Paraguay, was welcomed in October 2007 with a performance of Friends of the Earth Paraguay's water ballet, called “Water for Life.”
The theme of the ballet is water nature, human beings and the interlinkages between them. The ballet is a collaboration between Sobrevivencia/Friends of the Earth Paraguay and the National Ballet of Paraguay.
The ballet has been performed continuosly since its premiere in June 2005, and has been watched and acclaimed by more than 7,000 people from around the country and the region.
