•    In  2007, Friends of the Earth International counted 69 member groups and 16 affiliates, uniting more than 2 million members and supporters around the world.

•    Friends of the Earth International Chair Meena Raman addressed Heads of State at the UN 'informal' Climate Summit in September 2007, warning them that 'climate justice' needs to be urgently addressed in the fight against global warming.

•    The Friends of the Earth International website had almost 700,000 visits and more than 3 million page views in 2007.

•    The 2007 Friends of the Earth International award was presented to Make Stella Lukhele for her advocacy and actions to protect the environment and human rights of local communities in Swaziland.

•    FoEI shared local realities and struggles through our community testimony video streams of more than 30 impacted communities from all over the world. in English, French and Spanish.

•    In 2007, we invested more than Euro 100,000 in capacity building projects including community exchanges and staff exchanges in order to support national processes and strengthen local grassroots work.

•    The 2007 Friends of the Earth International GMO publication “Who Benefits from GM Crops?” was produced in seven languages including Russian ad Chinese, and was downloaded from our website a total of 43,000 times.

•    BMW, Daimler and Porsche, along with the German Atomic Forum were shamed in December during in the "Worst EU Lobbying" Award 2007”, co-organized by Friends of the Europe and affiliate Corporate Europe Observatory. Watch the video here.

•    The Friends of the Earth International cartoon book "If This Is Development You Can Keep It!" was downloaded a total of 3000 times from the Friends of the Earth International website.

•    Friends of the Earth Honduras Director and member of the Friends of the Earth International Executive Committee Juan Almendares received Annual Humanitarian Award from InterAction in 2007.

•    There are 2,000 cyberactivists from around the world signed up to our urgent action e-mail list who are willing to act now!

•    William Corduff from the Rossport farming community in Ireland was one of six winners of the 2007 Goldman Prize, in recognition of his resistance together with his community against an illegal Shell oil pipeline. Corduff is part of the global Shell Accountability Campaign, which includes community groups from four continents and NGOs such as Friends of the Earth International.

•    In December 2007, during the UN climate meeting in Bali, FoEI campaigners published a blog and photo gallery as events happened. A dedicated team from Australia; England Wales and Northern Ireland; Malaysia and Indonesia uploaded daily blog posts and photos. The main blog page received around 2,000 views with individual pages getting around 200 views each  in December. The photo gallery had more than 15,000 views.

•    As part of our core themes to “mobilize, resist and transform”, FoEI invested more efforts in contributing to making voices heard during international inter-governmental processes. In 2007, we supported and took part in the mobilization of communities and peoples during the Climate Summit in Bali, Indonesia and also featured the plight of  communities around the world in our publication "Voices from Communities Affected by Climate Change".
