In Indonesia palm oil plantations are causing major deforestation. Local people don't want more plantations. Palm oil used as biofuel is not a solution to climate change, it is part of the problem.

Rising sea levels mean that the Carteret Islands, Papua New Guinea are being evacuated

The people of the Carteret Islands are about to make history, as they begin to leave their island to find a new home. Rising seas are making their atoll uninhabitable - the land is too salty to grow food and the beaches on the small, sandy islands are being washed away. When a suitable home can be found they will start to leave. They are getting by now with the help of shipments of free rice from the autonomous government of Bougainville.
