Funding is in many ways the most difficult
problem we face. As an independant,
non-profit organization of volunteers, we
rely on contributions and donations to
support our operational expenses and also to
implement or campaigns. We welcome
contributions which can be project specific
or not.
The Cyprus government gives us a small annual contribution of about EU800, and we also get funding for projects such as the European Community Centers, a two year project which aims at strengthenening the role of the citizen in developing the Civil Society. Throughout the year we also sponsor fundraising activities, while a modest income is generated from the sale of eco products.
Structure
FoE Cyprus is governed by its
Articles of Association and its bylaws and
operates under the laws of the Republic of
Cyprus. The Annual General Meeting of the
members elects the Administrative Council of
the Organization, which consists of the
Chairperson, the Secretary, the Treasurer and
four members. FoE Cyprus employs a full time
office secretary, who is assisted by a team
of volunteer professionals and activists.
A library of materials on environmental subjects and a database is available to members as well as to interested non-members at the organization’s Headquarters.
Publications
FoE Cyprus publishes EARTHLINES, a
bilingual (Greek /English) magazine,
available free of charge to members and by
subscription to non-members. The magazine
features topics and news on International,
European and local environmental matters and
campaigns. FoE also publishes the LINK
Newsletter quarterly, for members only.
