FoE Ghana was founded in 1986 and joined FoEI the same year. It consists of 19 groups across the country, each with about 500 active members. The largest environmental organization in Ghana, we are dedicated to addressing environmental issues and promoting public awareness of these problems. Numerous successful campaigns and projects have brought the organization considerable expertise in forestry issues. FoE Ghana emphasizes the need to integrate environmental sustainability with gender equity. Major campaigns and programs underway are concerned with trade and the environment, mining, sustainable fisheries and agriculture. FoE Ghana also takes part in the FoEI Climate Change, Desertification, Forest, International Financial Institutions, Ozone and Sustainable Societies campaigns. The organization publishes an English-language newsletter called FoELINE
