Citizens for Justice's (CFJ) vision is to empower society by facilitating public access to information, public participation and access to justice in relation to sustainable natural resources management. CFJ is specifically committed to working with and on behalf of communities affected by unsustainable natural resource use and management.

They speak with and for the poor and the voiceless so that they are part of the processes. They promote the respect for human rights through meaningful community participation with particular focus on vulnerable and marginalized groups. In addition they promote sustainable livelihoods and support food security policies while empowering Malawians to exercise their fundamental right of the freedom of expression.

CFJ have a special emphasis on empowering and promoting the rights of women and children in Malawi, usually the most vulnerable in society.
