Zelena Akcija, Friends of the Earth Croatia, is a non-governmental, non-profit organization registered in January 1990. Based in Zagreb, Zelena Akcija is actively involved in environmental issues of local, national and international significance. The group is not affiliated with any political party and is based on the efforts of volunteers, supported by a professional team of around 10 people. The organization's main campaigns concern: renewable energies and climate change, Local Agenda 21, a "green phone" line for the public, genetically-modified organisms, nature protection (forests, protected areas) and trade.
