Friends of the earth spain wins eco-example award
Amigos de la Tierra Spain has won first prize in the category of NGOs in the Eco-Examples 2006 Awards organized by national savings bank Caja Madrid, with its national campaign to promote domestic composting.
The campaign now includes over a 1000 families across the country, together with a pilot project at the European University in Madrid, and has had fantastic results. Families recycle their organic waste in order to obtain a high quality fertilizer for direct use in gardens, for indoor plants, vegetable patches, allotments, parks and flower beds.
