The FoEI tent hosted sessions on biodiversity, corporates, trade and forests and evening cultural events, with singing, dancing, poetry and community awards. The tent itself, with FoEI banners and a photo exhibition was situated in a perfect spot, right on the banks of the lake.

The climate team also held events outside of the tent, including well-attended sessions on climate justice and on 'Linking Human Rights, Environmental Justice, Labour Rights and Climate Change'. The main message from these sessions was the need for greater engagement and action on climate, from affected communities, indigenous peoples, workers and women at different levels

global boycott of us goods World Social Forum participants from around the globe united in a renewed call for a worldwide boycott of US brands as an effective action against unilateral US foreign policies concerning Iraq, the Kyoto protocol, the International Criminal Court and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, to name a few. As Pol D’Huyvetter from FoE Flanders declared: “The economic boycott is an effective non-violent tool with which concerned citizens around the world can vote with their wallets against the aggressive policies of Washington.”.
