Lagoon

A natural body of water separated from a larger body of water by coral reef or sand bars. Lagoons are generally smaller than lakes.

Lake dwelling

A home built on piles of resources, such as earth or wood, found in or near a lake.

Limnology

The study of continental waters and organisms living there.

Lithosphere

The rigid, mechanically strong, outer layer of the earth. This layer, also termed crust, makes up the soil, rock and waters of the earth.

Lizard

A reptile commonly found in many parts of the world. They are often pale green or red on top and white on the bottom.
