Climate change is affecting biodiversity in multiple ways, while biodiversity loss is simultaneously taking a toll on the climate. This report explores how these crises are intrinsically linked, and how they exacerbate one another. It also examines how various inadequate climate policies, such as tree plantations, agrofuels and offsetting, are in fact ‘false solutions’ that undermine the protection of biodiversity.

Halting climate change and biodiversity loss calls for a fundamental rethinking of our approach and for a real system change that focuses on the root causes of these crises and protects communities and Indigenous peoples.
