This publication is the result of an extensive and fruitful debate within Friends of the Earth International about the rights that are essential for community forest management (CFM) to be carried out more fully.

The publication explains in detail why the implementation of these rights is necessary: for example, if the right to land is not respected, it is impossible to carry out CFM. In this way, we analyse various rights whose implementation is key to this traditional and collective practice. We not only refer to the content of each of the rights identified, but also give a brief account of the main threats that CFM faces.
