Internationalist solidarity with peoples' struggles in Honduras

For many years, we have denounced the vicious violence endured by organisations, social movements and communities in Honduras, and the context of corporate impunity that allows it.

In 2016, Lenca community leader Berta Caceres was killed for defending her peoples’ territory and rights. We have stood with the communities seeking justice for her murder, which was orchestrated by the company who wanted to build a dam on their sacred river.

In 2020, four defenders from the indigenous Garifuna community were forcibly disappeared. We call for their safe return and an end to the systematic attacks on the community by banana and oil palm companies, land grabbers and tourist developments.

This video calls to support the cause of environmental defenders in Honduras, and for their safety.
