It is impossible to put a price on nature. How can we assess, in economic terms, the cultural, historical or social value of a tree? How can we sell nature and its functions in financial markets? This is called the Financialisation of Nature.

We invite you to watch our short film, the first of two, in which we explain what the Financialisation of Nature is and why it is so problematic.

We hope these materials will be used by organisations and social movements to contribute to a better understanding of the Financialisation of Nature as a false solution to the multiple crises we face including biodiversity loss, and that this will, in turn, increase support for peoples’ struggles and resistance. The Financialisation of Nature will not halt its destruction.
