Mapping the complicity: Corporate power’s ties to the Palestinian genocide
Mobilise, boycott and hold accountable those who fuel, enable, and profit from genocide. Corporate climate criminals, alongside the institutions and financiers that sustain them, have built their wealth through the exploitation and suffering of communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Today, they continue to profit from the destruction of Palestinian lives and land amid the ongoing genocide. Their complicity must be exposed, their impunity stopped, and their profiteering brought to an end.
Friends of the Earth International condemns imperialism, the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and calls for peace. As an environmental and social justice organisation, we work against all systems of oppression and are committed to dismantling imperialism. Imperialism is deeply linked to colonialism, racism, patriarchy and environmental injustice, and we are committed to challenging and dismantling it.
We demand that governments take action, choose diplomacy, and call for an end to wars and genocides, for demilitarisation and for peace, pursuing a political agenda based on a ‘culture of peace’. As a federation, we stand in internationalist solidarity with the people of Palestine and all those on the front lines of imperialist aggression, and are guided by the following demands:
- We call on all States to cease and refrain from any conduct that may render them complicit in the wars and serious violations of international law perpetrated by the United States and Israel, and to use all diplomatic and economic mechanisms at their disposal to deter Israel’s genocidal attacks on Gaza and the West Bank. In particular, we urge governments to end the transfer of arms, military and dual‑use equipment, logistical and intelligence support, financial flows, and diplomatic or political cover that enable or facilitate grave breaches of international humanitarian law and fundamental human rights. We demand that all financial resources allocated to wars and the war industry be redirected to the transformation and repair of this world.
- We call on movements and people across the world to mobilise, boycott and pressure those who fuel and profit from the genocide to end their complicity. Corporate climate criminals like Chevron, Total, Shell, ENI & Exxon, and those who support and finance them, have built their empire on the suffering of climate frontline communities, and now continue to do so on Palestinian lives and land wrecked by the ongoing genocide. Their complicity and impunity must end.
- We demand the immediate opening of Gaza’s borders and ensure the unrestricted entry of food, medicine and fuel.
- We demand Israel respect the International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision, which unequivocally affirmed that the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip is illegal and must end immediately.
- We stand for international law and Peoples’ multilateralism, and for an international framework that respects the sovereignty of states and the self-determination of peoples. Putting peoples’ and human rights as well as environmental, social, gender and racial justice at its centre.
- We demand the dismantling of corporate power, impunity and resource grabbing. Resource control and corporate influence drive imperialist aggression. The US-led imperial alliance is backed by powerful corporations, using tariffs and bilateral deals to bully Global South countries. US imperialism in oil and critical minerals reflects a relentless campaign of geopolitical coercion that is destroying ecosystems and threatening life itself.
- Friends of the Earth International urges countries to adopt and enforce clear laws and binding regulations to ensure that companies headquartered or operating within their territories are not complicit in international crimes or in conflict with international human rights law and international humanitarian law, and to hold them legally accountable, ensuring effective access to justice and remedies for affected peoples.
